VisTrails, Inc. is at the forefront of data provenance management research and technology development. The new functionalities that we bring to market will revolutionize the way people explore, analyze, and create data. VisTrails Inc.'s goal is to supply "Provenance for a Digital World" and become the leading provider of software solutions for the provenance of computational tasks. Based on our patent-pending technology, VisTrails is developing provenance-enabled management solutions for complex software applications. Our Provenance Explorer offers unique capabilities for acquiring and disseminating provenance, the digital process trail of how data was created and modified. Provenance Explorer is revolutionizing the way people capture, reuse, collaborate, share, analyze, and secure processes used to develop digital assets.

The VisTrails product strategy is based on three basic "Provenance Engine™" product lines:

Provenance Explorer Add-on's/Plug-in's: This product line allows the "provenance-enabling" of applications that already have a significant user base. In the 3D modeling and animation market, we have a plug-in for Autodesk Maya that has been in beta since April 2009 and is scheduled for release in mid 2009. Plug-ins are also currently available for leading scientific visualization applications, ParaView and VisIt.

Provenance Partnerships (via a Software Developer Kit (SDK)): This product line is in development and will allow OEM parters to embed the VisTrails Provenance Engine within their applications, enabling the capture of provenance information without having the need substantial (and costly) changes to their products. Currently, our Provenance Explorer technology can be embedded into software applications through our professional services organization.
